Hello, my name is Jenny Capel
PT, APT, CCRT
I am the owner and Lead Canine Rehabilitation Therapist at Paws In Motion. I was raised right here in Reno before leaving for college in San Diego to pursue a degree in Biology. In 1994, I graduated from the University of San Diego and continued on to graduate school for physical therapy in The Netherlands, graduating in 1998. After graduation, I returned to Reno and began working in a variety of physical therapy settings, eventually specializing in home health.

My journey from physical therapy to canine rehabilitation is a personal one. My aging Weimaraner, Jakey, began having lumbosacral issues, causing him to drag his hind paws and to have difficulty standing and walking. Because of my experience in physical therapy, I helped him improve his strength and mobility, allowing him to remain independent through his final years. It was during this time that my professional experience and love for dogs guided me into animal physical therapy. I attended the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and have been working as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist since 2020.
During my time working with dogs, I’ve seen the need in the community for canine home health and founded Paws In Motion in 2023.

Now, Paws in Motion serves dogs in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Incline, Nevada to help keep them mobile even into their later years.

Getting Started
As a certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and licensed Physical Therapist in Nevada, I do not provide veterinary medical treatments. Therefore, before initiating any treatment for your dog's condition, I require medical clearance from your veterinarian. This clearance ensures that your dog is safe and suitable for rehabilitation. Additionally, I maintain regular communication with your veterinarian to keep them informed of your dog's progress throughout the course of care.
